Mandarin Consulting FAQs
1. Is Mandarin Consulting a recruitment agency?
We have four main areas of business: business consultancy, headhunting, cross-cultural training and career coaching. The first three areas are services provided to companies and the last one is for individual job seekers including students and graduates who would like to learn job application skills.
2. Besides helping job seekers prepare their CVs, covering letters, job applications, and prepare for interviews, what other coaching do we provide?
Now that you have joined our career coaching programme you will gain a deep insight into the Western business world including the job application process, the mentality and thinking of Western companies, and Western business etiquette. Through our coaching, you will increase you understanding of your own position in the job market, which will increase your chances of success in finding a job. Of course Mandarin Consulting cannot guarantee candidates a job offer, but our excellent coaching can give you the best possible preparation. Due to regulation changes, namely the cancelling of PSW, Chinese candidates do not have the luxury of spending a long time applying for jobs. They need to possess effective job-seeking skills from the moment they start applying. And this is where Mandarin Consulting comes in —by helping you get an offer in the shortest possible time. We coach you to demonstrate your abilities effectively. Our highly experienced and skillful coaches will provide candidates with job application strategy and help them during every stage of the process. Our programme undoubtedly will provide great value to you and many describe the fee they pay to us as the best investment they have ever made!
3. We can learn job application skills from the Career Service in our university and by researching the internet. Why should we pay a fee to Mandarin Consulting to learn?
There is a big difference between the services provided by the Career Service and what we provide. In fact, many leading UK universities invite us to help their Chinese students with job applications. This is because most Career Services in the UK do not have anyone in the team who specifically understands Chinese students’ needs which makes it very difficult for them to help Chinese students. Career Services are also unable to provide urgent one-to-one coaching sessions to you your job interviews and assessment centres.
